Commission River Agent Of The Month

When the August Commission River Newsletter arrived today, my jaw dropped about halfway through the read. Yours truly was just awarded the prestigious “featured agent” trophy in shimmering solid gold and rich ebony. Wow! Thank you everyone at CR. I’m both stunned and honored.

Commission River Agent of The Month TrophyWhat’s all the hoopla about? It’s about everything you’ve been reading right here for the past several years. These are exciting times in technology. That excitement of ever newer and more impressive voice and data services is being exploited by a company that you may not be familiar with, but will likely become a household word someday. That’s Commission River.

Commission River grew out of the late Kevin Anderson’s groundbreaking Cognigen master agency and Telarus, a new company formed by Adam Edwards and Patrick Oborn to bring commercial telecom sales into the Web 2.0 era. While Telarus, Inc. and Commission River are separate companies, they are tightly coupled for the affiliates. When you join Commission River, you also have the full resources of Telarus behind you. It’s an amazing mash-up that enables even casual online affiliates to successfully pursue major telecommunication contracts.

If you’ve worked for a traditional telecommunications carrier, you might raise an eyebrow to the idea that someone casually involved in selling telecom services, especially through the Internet, has any hope whatsoever of competing with the seasoned professional “suits” at the major service providers. Yet, it’s happening every day thanks to the empowerment of the GeoQuote system developed by Telarus.

What Telarus has done is recognize that business telecom services can be marketed through a teaming process based on the natural division of labor between traditional sales consultants who specialize in working with carrier representatives and closing sales contracts, and lead agents who make sales inquiries, write articles, build websites, and otherwise promote the suite of available services to companies that may need them. GeoQuote ties these activities together with an automated self-service online quote interface and customized back-offices for affiliates, closers and VARs (equipment dealers). It’s such an innovative process, it’s patented.

Commission River brings this opportunity and more to interested individuals who want to get involved with a technology business that doesn’t require a big outlay of cash nor a full time commitment. In fact, you can sign up at no cost in a matter of minutes, online of course, and start building an income stream through marketing such diverse services as T1 lines, MPLS networks, cell phones, toll free numbers, Web hosting and even traditional long distance service.

That’s how I got my start. It was casually selling lower cost long distance services online through Cognigen. That’s morphed into a full time business writing articles for “T1 Rex’s Business Telecom Explainer” and building specialized websites that include T1 Rex, MegaTrunks, GigaPackets, Can I Get DSL? and Enterprise VoIP, to name a few.

My latest project is the GigaTrunks Ethernet Internet Finder. It’s based on a brand new product called the “premium site” offered by Commission River. Instead of buying a lot of expensive web design software and then spending weeks and months learning how to create a professional looking website and how to manipulate the code to make it work to capture leads and build links, you buy a pre-coded template that uses a fill-in-the-blanks online “wizard” tool to create a customized professional looking and functioning website. You can build one like GigaTrunks.com, fine-tuned to the particular service you want to promote, in the course of a single evening. It doesn’t get much easier than this.

So, thanks to you Commission River and Telarus. It’s been a great run so far and I expect it to be a long and profitable relationship.
